Technology and Me

As a HomeLab enthusiast and self-learner with a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, currently pursuing a Master’s in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, I have a Love-Hate relationship with technology.

The love

My journey began in my early teens, repairing computers for friends and family, which sparked my interest in technology. With a solid foundation in hardware and electronics, I have developed skills in system administration and network management. Lots of hands-on experience and curious mindset drive me to continuously explore and experiment with new tools and configurations. While my cybersecurity experience is just starting, I am dedicated to staying ahead in the ever-evolving technological spectrum, ensuring secure and efficient solutions across various domains.

The hate

While I am deeply engaged with technology, I also recognize the importance of disconnecting. There are moments when I yearn for the simplicity of analog and manual systems, feeling that technology can overcomplicate tasks unnecessarily. This nostalgia reminds me of the need to regain control and find balance, ensuring that technology serves me rather than dominates my life. There are things that are just better without 0’s and 1’s shenanigans.

Other interests

DIY

Also have a passion for do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, spanning across various domains. From delving into the realms of electricity and electronics to tinkering with mechanics and carpentry, I find joy in creating and building with my own hands. Whether it’s repairing household appliances, smartphones, tablets, or other gadgets, I relish the challenge of troubleshooting and finding solutions. This hands-on approach not only enriches my understanding of technology but also empowers me to tackle everyday problems with ingenuity and resourcefulness.

Physics, Biology and general Science

In addition to my technological interests, I find great pleasure in contemplating the mysteries of life, consciousness, biology, cosmology, and physics. Guided by the insights of esteemed authors such as Richard Dawkins, Michio Kaku, António Damásio, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, I immerse myself in popular science literature. I am captivated by the enigmatic nature of the universe and the intricacies of existence, often pondering questions that transcend the boundaries of conventional understanding. From exploring the wonders of quantum mechanics to contemplating the origins of consciousness, I delight in unraveling the complexities of our world through the lens of science.

Music and Sports

Beyond technology, I have a deep passion for music. I’m a bass and classical guitar player, and have occasionally helped in sound technician roles out of curiosity. I also enjoy staying active through swimming, cycling, and running. These diverse interests contribute to a well-rounded perspective and a balanced approach to both professional and personal endeavors.
